Social Services, Health Care and Rescue Services Division

We organise social services, health care and rescue services for the residents of the city of Helsinki. Elsewhere in Finland, wellbeing services counties are responsible for organising social services, health care and rescue services.

Our services are funded entirely by the state and customer charges.

We provide the services either as our own operations, in cooperation with other wellbeing services counties, or we procure them from private or third-sector service providers. Our services are fully funded by government funding and client fee revenue. Our goal is to provide the best possible services to the residents of Helsinki with the financial, human and other resources available in Helsinki,

Our division has four service units and shared services that serve all of them:

1. Family and Social Services

2. Health and Substance Abuse Services

3. Hospital, Rehabilitation and Care Services

4. Rescue Services

5. The Division’s Shared Services
