Frequently Asked Questions
What is the CleverHealth Network (CHN)?
CleverHealth Network is an innovation ecosystem led by HUS (Helsinki University Hospital), where healthcare professionals, researchers, and companies co-develop data-driven solutions for healthcare needs.
Who can join the network?
The network is open to companies in the technology and health sectors, research institutions, and other innovation actors who wish to co-create solutions with public healthcare.
How is a new development project initiated?
Projects can be initiated either by a clinical need identified by HUS or from an idea proposed by a network member. Contact the CHN team – we help evaluate the potential of the idea and assemble the right partners as needed.
Is there a fee to join the network?
Yes, joining the network is subject to a fee.
Can CHN provide access to patient data?
Yes, under certain conditions. Data use is governed by legislation and HUS’s research ethics principles. All access is permission-based and conducted securely.
How long do projects typically last?
Project durations vary – typically they last between 1 to 3 years depending on the development phase and project partners.
Can CHN enable product piloting at HUS?
Yes. Piloting in a hospital environment is one of the strengths of the network. HUS experts assess how well a product fits into practical care workflows.
Where can I find ongoing projects?
Current projects are listed in the Projects section of our website. We also publish news and results via our blog and LinkedIn.
Can solutions developed within CHN be commercialized?
Yes. Developed solutions may lead to productization and commercialization. Ownership and IPR matters are agreed upon on a project-by-project basis.
