In mid-October, Tiina Puurtinen and Mikko Kytö from HUS travelled to the United States to represent the CleverHealth Network at the HLTH USA event, one of the world’s largest health technology conferences. The event brought together over 12,000 healthcare and health sector professionals, including industry decision-makers and stakeholders. Most of the speakers were representatives of companies in the sector, who discussed the latest trends and challenges in healthcare and health technology.
CleverHealth Network took part in the HLTH USA conference in Las Vegas, alongside ten health technology start-ups, Päivi Sillanauke, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and Tarja Enala, Director of Business Finland’s Health 360 Finland programme. The Finnish pavilion showcased Finnish health technology expertise and CleverHealth Network’s collaboration model to an international audience.
This year’s conference topics included, amongst others, artificial intelligence, the shortage of carers, women’s health, data, remote monitoring solutions, care for the elderly and mental health.
CHN presented its unique operating model to American and European representatives at the event. According to Development Manager Tiina Puurtinen, it became clear that co-development is significantly less common in the United States, as companies often favour independent operations or setting up start-ups. The Finnish model of ecosystem collaboration therefore attracted a great deal of interest. CHN’s stand generated new contacts from both Europe and the United States. The ecosystem co-development model raised the organisation’s profile and sparked discussions.
Development Manager Mikko Kytö noted that the main themes of the conference were in line with CHN’s projects and research topics, which demonstrates that CHN is keeping pace with global trends in healthcare. Tiina Puurtinen agreed: CHN has its finger on the pulse and is tackling the same challenges as the international health technology community.
Mikko and Tiina were delighted by the use of the ‘Finland – State of Happiness’ slogan and the sauna theme at the Finnish pavilion. It brought a recognisably Finnish touch to the event and highlighted Finland’s role as a pioneer in health technologies.
The HLTH USA event provided CleverHealth Network with an excellent opportunity to showcase Finnish expertise in health technology, strengthen international partnerships and raise its profile amongst global players in the sector.
