Apotti, a modular healthcare information system and company developing the system, has joined the CleverHealth Network (CHN). It is committed to developing cost-effective, innovative solutions for social and healthcare services.
Jari Renko, Apotti’s Chief Technology Officer, has experience from both the private sector and public healthcare.. With a background as CIO at HUS Helsinki University Hospital, Renko aims to bridge operational models from both sectors in his current work. “It’s great to join this public-private partnership through CHN and get to see first hand how the public sector can operate both cost-effectively and innovatively,” Renko says.
Apotti is the world’s first electronic social care and health care record that combines data from primary healthcare, specialized healthcare, and social care into a single, unified record. The Apotti system helps to generate better health, well-being and data. It improves customer and patient safety as well as the quality of care by guiding professionals’ actions, enhancing medication safety and anticipating risk situations.
A modular and global system
Jari Renko explains that Apotti’s system is based on Epic Systems, a leading health information technology used by nearly 70% of major hospitals worldwide, particularly in the United States. This strong technological foundation helps in making Apotti’s solution modular and easily extendable, allowing for customer-driven integration and development of various healthcare systems.
Owned by its customer hospitals in the HUS area (Helsinki) and the Vantaa and Kerava Wellbeing Services County, Apotti’s mission is to deliver services that lead to more agile social and healthcare solutions at cost price. The primary aim is to better serve the needs of healthcare professionals and patients alike. “The current strategic focus of Apotti is to improve the user experience and user satisfaction as well as cost efficiency – we provide a holistic solution enhancing the work of healthcare and socialcare professionals,” Renko says.
Why join CleverHealth Network?
According to Renko, joining CHN offers Apotti a launchpad to work with the leading healthcare players in the ecosystem and help them in connecting with the wide Epic network, for example.
Apotti aims to strengthen its role as a developer of impactful healthcare solutions and to increase its visibility as a driver of health innovation. “Through the CHN ecosystem, we hope to learn from existing innovations and explore opportunities to participate in developing or internationalizing promising solutions, whether as a platform partner, advisor or integration partner,” Renko says. He sees value in helping other CHN member companies bring their applications to the desks of healthcare professionals, both in Finland and internationally.
Collaboration and strategic goals
Apotti’s development work is closely tied to its owner-customers and is continuously shaped for example, by changes in healthcare legislation. Renko sees strategic alignment between CHN’s objectives and Apotti’s expertise and is eager to engage in the innovative CHN community.
Apotti’s core message is to be a cost-effective, professional-supporting comprehensive solution and a key enabler of data-driven healthcare work. Renko emphasises that impact is more important than business potential: “Our goal is to strengthen our role as a promoter of health innovations. Successful collaboration means we’re making a real difference.”
In the context of CHN, Apotti can leverage its strong global network of Epic users to benefit other healthcare service providers. “The focus is on how to use this shared tool more efficiently and how Apotti can support the global market presence of other members in the ecosystem,” Renko concludes.
