CleverHealth Network ecosystem (CHN) has made pioneering work regarding digital healthcare innovations since 2017. Utilizing healthcare data and AI tools, key experts from HUS and partner companies have developed together new solutions for real clinical needs improving care and wellbeing of people. Now, the ecosystem is expanding its scope to tackle even wider themes such as comprehensive care paths, optimized hospital processes, sustainability in healthcare, including also utilization of medical devices, robotics, digital twins and new technologies.
Innovation ecosystem driving digital healthcare from needs to practical solutions
Today, CHN is known as a well-established innovation ecosystem with fluent operation principles, open joint development mindset and proven results. Our systematic working mode from idea gathering/selection to project building, execution and paths for commercialization has led to good results.
Homedialysis and Remote monitoring of gestational diabetes are key examples of recently completed R&D projects which have been taken already to the commercialization phase.
Acute leukemia, AI Head Analysis and Early diagnostics of rare diseases are in turn examples of projects which have brought impactful results and are entering the exploitation phase.
International collaboration is a key part of CHN activities and EU funded joint projects a practical tool for that. Examples of CHN related EU projects include Aiccelerate, Oncovalue, PHEMS and Long Covid.
New strategy – from clinical use cases to wider topics
Understanding widely the diverse needs in healthcare both globally and locally the CleverHealth ecosystem is ready to take a bigger role in solving not only specific clinical problems but tackling also system-level healthcare challenges. We have just renewed the CHN strategy for 2025-2030 giving guidelines for new extended collaborations aiming for wider impact. The broader research themes related to our need-driven co-development are described as part of the strategy in the CleverHealth Network Roadmap 2025–2030.

New partners welcome
As the scope of our R&D themes expands a lot, also new type of partners are needed in the ecosystem and collaborative projects to solve the challenges together. Data will be in central role also in the future, but naturally the R&D challenges related to the above roadmap themes call for many competences and a multidisciplinary approach, which is core of our working mode.
Just recently three new partners joined the ecosystem. Medlyse, Avaintec and ART Software are SME companies bringing fresh ideas and contributing to new projects currently under preparation. We will tell more about them and their ideas later.
